NX Licensing and Installation Guide

NX is the award-winning software that helps designers and manufacturers deliver better products faster using powerful, integrated CAD and CAM solutions that realize the full value of the digital twin. This article will guide you through the process of setting up the software, divided into two parts.

Part 1: Licensing

  1. There is one type of license file: ugslmd.
  2. If you have not installed the Siemens License Server previously, follow the steps in Siemens License Server Installation and Setup. If you already have a running Siemens License Server, follow the steps in Adding/Replacing a License File for the Siemens License Server instead.

Part 2: Software Installation

      Step 1. Unzip the downloaded files from Support Center.

      Step 2. Go to the nx folder.

      Step 3. Execute Setup.exe.

      Step 4. Select language.

      Step 5. Click Next.

      Step 6. Select features to be installed.

      Step 7. Enter your licensing information. If you are unsure about the port number or the license server IP address, please contact your licensing admin.

      Step 8. Select language for NX.

      Step 9. Install NX.


      Step 10. Finish installation.

      Step 11. Launch NX.
