ADINA User Input: NX Nastran Interface (Advanced Nonlinear SOL 601/701)

ADINA Supports NX Nastran Input for Legacy SOL 601/701

ADINA was used as the Advanced Nonlinear solution (SOL 601 and SOL 701) in NX Nastran.  While NX Nastran no longer supports the Advanced Nonlinear solutions, the ADINA solver can still receive and use models that utilize NX Nastran input.  A complete list of the supported Nastran input commands can be found in the aui-nas help document, which is included in ADINA installation files.  Refer to the Nastran Quick Reference Guide for details and proper usage of Nastran input.

Explicit Dynamic Analysis (SOL 701)

This solver uses explicit time integration.  The time steps are based on element size and the speed of sound through the material.

Implicit Dynamic Analysis (SOL 601)

This solver uses implicit time integration.  The time steps are set by the user.  This analysis iterates each time step until energy converges within a defined tolerance.

Use Femap for Pre- and Post-Processing of ADINA Models

Since ADINA can use models defined with NX Nastran Input, they now provide a custom Femap API which enables pre- and post-processing for ADINA completely within Femap.  This API enables a graphic user-interface for ADINA model definition that is based on SOL 601/701 NX Nastran Input.  This tool is called ADINA TRANSOR for Femap.
