Siemens License Server Installation and Setup for Linux

Download the Siemens License Server

Follow the below step-by-step instructions to install and configure the Siemens License Server:
  1. Login to Siemens Support Center: https://support.sw.siemens.com/en-US/.
  2. Select Siemens License Server under Product Centers. Go to the next step if it is not listed.

  3. In the Support Center drop down menu, choose Siemens License Server. Type Siemens License Server in the search box. Click Search.

  4. Click the house shape with the words Siemens License Server at the top of the window.

  5.  Select the Latest Release box on the right.

  6. The operating system type can be selected to reduce the number of files to choose from by the "Filter by OS/Language" drop down menu on the right of the screen.  Whether you are looking for Windows or Linux.  Here we will select Linux for this exercise.

  7. Select the License Server version needed for your OS system based on the type of processor you have.   In the example below we are choosing the Intel-based processor.  This will immediately begin the compressed folder download.

Install License Server:

  1. To install SLS on Linux, you must install SLS as root. Some configuration tasks require root permissions.
  2. From the command-line, type ./SiemensLicenseServer_v<version_number>_Lnx64_x86-64.bin
  3. Follow the prompts.
